Premier Pro projects will not save properly...why?

If start a new project and provide a proper name and "save" location, after importing all of my files, editing the files in a timeline, I then save the project with a name.

I close the project and reopen later, the project DOES have all of the content in the media browser BUT the timeline says "no sequences".  WHY?

All of the editing is gone.  The files used in the editing are intact in the media browser but the timeline is empty!

Hey there, commericalvoice!

On page 232 of that pdf that Jim posted, there's a short paragraph about how to open your sequence. Go to your project panel and double-click on the item that has this icon next to it:

Let me know if your work comes back!

You probably just need to open the sequence.

THANK YOU!!!!  THAT was the answer I needed...you showed EXACTLY "how" to open the sequence rather than a basic answer of "open the sequence".

You saved me HOURS of work!

You should still put in those hours by reading the full manual.  You do yourself a disservice if you don't.

By the way, it took me less than 30 seconds to find the answer in the linked PDF.  It's literally on the very first page of the Editing Sequences chapter.  Right there is bold print:

Open a sequence

In a Project panel, double-click a sequence.

The sequence opens in a Timeline panel.
