As described, we are having datamosh video glitches on our exports and even on timeline preview (25.0, 25.1 has mostly disappeared), ranging from Premiere 24.6 to 25.1. We usually export on "YouTube 4K" setting or "Adaptative Bits - Medium". Either of them cause this issues. We are having this glitches with our Sony Z90 array of cameras. We can't provide screenshots due to our client, but we have provided a .XML from one of the files that glitched recently, just for spec-catching purposes.
I'll be sharing some tips to overcome this situation for other users who find this:
- When you got your corrupted clips detected and selected, transcode them with Shutter Encoder (recommended), Handbrake or similar to any compression you desire (I used Apple ProRes just in case). Then replace the file inside the timeline.
- It doesn't happen on any other cameras apart from this Z90 we own (not happening on GoPro footage for example)
- It may happen at the beginning of clip cuts, or even in the middle of a video suddenly. It also has a bitter taste for faces.
- We also found out version 24.4.1 is the one that has a fair balance of features without the glitching issue.
We are awaiting for a fix from Adobe, as we do daily content and those issues with Premiere 25 have slowed down our production pipeline.
Regards.
Hi smofista,
We're sorry about the poor experience. We're investigating a similar issue. For testing purposes, please try disabling hardware accelerated decoding under Preferences > Media & check if it's fixing the preview.
Thanks,
Sumeet

We've done a render today following these steps:
- Cleaned All Cache (Reboot on app included).
- Checked "Only Mercury Software" on preview/project (Technically what you asked).
- On the "YouTube 4K" export preset, disabled "Hardware rendering"
- Exported inside Premiere, not Media Encoder (about 1h 30min of really slow render)
A glitch appeard a few minutes in, despite all the previous steps.
It is worth noticing that those glitches don't have a real pattern and can appear/disappear randomly, as I replicated the same render with hardware on/off on another test video and the results were inconclusive. Also cache is stored on a custon drive/path, but also non relevant during tests. We are also running Windows 11 with Nvidia GPUs (3060 Ti and RTX 6000 respectively for each test machine)
We are keen on helping you out on solving this issue. We could be open on sending you a couple renders/footage privately for your team to check on the raw data. Awaiting for your answer, many thanks in advance.

Pretty fast check overall, all codecs on green at both machines except on AV1, which shouldn't be related with the issue or a real codec to find compatibility with right now.
As said, we are open to help with the issue, but we won't be staying with Premiere 25.1 or further versions at the moment.

I have been having a similar issue with Sony mxf from an FS5. Mine may have even started before 24.6. Happy to help as well as i have been forced to use 24.1 which is fine but were paying a lot of money for a sub for an issue that has been present for a good amount of time.

Hi everyone,
We've fixed a similar preview glitching issue with mxf files in the latest Beta. Would you mind trying the latest Beta release of Premiere Pro to check if it's working properly? You may refer to this link to learn more about Creative Cloud Beta program.
Thanks,
Sumeet

I use A Sony Z90 a lot, I have set it to higest HD 25P resolution (HDCAM 10bit XAVC HD) (MXF file)
I have not seen any problems with 2025.1.
Be sure to use fast SDcards, I use Sandisk Extreme Pro 170mb/s SDXC
