Premiere and Beta not working properly. Ever.

Problem: Nothing works. Ever.

Step 1: Try do do anything
Step 2: Try again

Step 3: Try the same thing but differently
Step 4: Try anything else
Step 5: Scream because everything is so clunky or doesn't work at all. 

Step 6: Explain to your employer why you don't have a video for them yet.
Step 7: Explain to this forum that your computer has Windows 11, 128GB RAM, 12900K CPU, 3090 Graphics card, 1TB NVMe main drive, Editing off of an 8TB NVMe drive, the latest Premiere updates, the latest drivers for all hardware. The footage is 6K, proxies are 1080. 

The real problem comes from the fact that playback is jumpy and skips. Performance is slow. Lumetri Scopes takes 10-30 seconds to show updated levels once sliders are moved. Graphics presets a have always taken FOREVER to update for the past 10 years. 

Audio features suck:
1. No way to get normal sounding audio out of a 2 track audio file using "Enhance Speech".
There is no proper workaround that allows you to take a 2 track clip, convert it to mono, AND use the "Enhance Speed" option. Once enhance speech is applied to a 2 track audio clip (2 microphones on one audio track), it sounds very bizzar. Even if you "Fill Left with Right or R with L", applying speech enhance automatically removes the R/L effect. Makes it kinda useless. Why has nobody else discovered to bothered for fix this over the past year? 

Also, can we PLEASE get a button option that allows users to connect to the online speech enhance version so we can get the great results instead of weird sounding ones? "Enhance Speech" Sounds much worse in the Premiere than it does using their online version.

Can we please finally get these things ironed out before moving forward with more new broken Beta "features"? My whole editing career revolves around using this program and using these featues and they haven't worked properly in YEARS, or ever. Occasionally, editing will be smooth, even with 6K footage, but for the past few months, it has been very clunky. Honestly, this list of problems goes on, but these are my current main concerns.

Thanks for the message.

The first part of your post indicates you are having performance issues with your system and 6K media using proxies. I appreciate the info. Can you tell us more about the source footage and the proxy format you are using?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps yet? Try pressing Shift at launch and deleting the media cache from the Reset Options dialog box. That can help a lot. Your cache will have to reconform once you launch, but it shouldn't take long. Another thing you can do is reset preferences from Reset Options. You can also delete the plug-in cache and even launch without third party plug-ins. Let the community know if this improves your situation.

I am not sure how you would defeat the issue with your audio. You may want to experiment with another workflow that is more straightforward like recording on one track per person with a single mic. See if that would work in a test. As far as existing audio, you may need to transcode it so that only one voice is located on each track. I hope that might work.

I've heard of others wanting to use the podcast version of Enhance Speech, but I don't see any feature requests yet for a button in the UI. It's a good idea. Make that request here: https://adobe.ly/401JaGc. I will gladly upvote.
