I actually bought a new laptop after it killed my XPS 9560 after one Windows update. One fine day Premiere just decided not to work. I could not import anything in any way.
The new Gigabyte Aero 15x ended up with the same issues. So it's confirmed Premiere CC issue. I had been using A7s2 mp4 files all the time.
It looks like Adobe can't solve this, will have to convert to Resolve.

Hi Sean,
To confirm, your initial problems started with a Windows update?
What version of Windows are you running now?
Reinstalling Pr has helped some, did you try that?
This is not something that affects most Windows users. It would be interesting to discover the particular reason why it affects some.
Do you get crash warnings / logs? Those would be very helpful.
Are you accessing files over a network?
Do you have the ability to reproduce it consistently?

Hi Wes, I have the same problem across 3 machines. Yes I can replicate that. It happens all the time with footage from the same A7S2 across all 3 machines.
I have uninstalled it previously but the problem always comes back. What is the best way to do a clean uninstall?

Hi Sean,
Maybe hold off on the re-install for a bit. Sounds like this could be an issue specific to format. Can you send me a couple sample files? Dropbox link or something? I'll send you a PM.
