Hi,
I can't get Premiere to recognise an attached Blackmagic 4k Ultrastudio Mini.
You can see the Blackmagic box listed in some Premiere menu's/settings, for example in the Audio Settings window, but Premiere isn't sending any video to the Blackmagic box (this particular model has a built in monitor so you can see the feed it's receiving. It's blank while in Premiere).
On the same setup, Avid recognises and works with the Blackmagic box fine without any issues. I am on OS X 11.6. I have Premiere 15.4.1. The version of the Blackmagivc Desktop Video utility I'm running is 12.1 (I think the latest).
Any help welcome.
Adam
I've never tried sending video from Premier to an Ultrastudio Mini, but I have had a lot of experience with using Black Magic Design gear and one thing I do know is that they are very particular about video frame rates and size. Usually when I expect to see a video signal coming through BMD device and I don't see any, it's becuase somewhere the frame rate or frame size isn't matching. I might test this and play around with it tomorrow when I go in to work.

Thanks for your help.
I incorrectly assumed that Premiere would just override the settings in the BM app, which is what Avid does.
If I make sure the settings in the BM app match whatever content is being edited in Premiere, it works OK.

Really glad you figured it out. I wonder how hard it would be for the Premiere Pro Dev team to make a change so it works more elegantly? Sounds like a feature request.

but it may be the way Blackmagic drivers are written. Yeah, it definitely takes some time tweaking the settings in the blackmagic control panel...
