My keyboard settings keep getting reset every time I open Premiere. So if I add a new keyboard setting, it's not there the next time I open the app. Any ideas?
It's like I've got the Sync setting to always download and it's downloading an old version. I don't though. I've also tried setting it to always upload. I've also tried saving the keyboard settings as new file.
When I try to do a File>Sync settings within the app, it doesn't get anywhere for a few minutes and then returns an error -501 - so this is probably connected to a Sync error
Pr 23.4, Windows 10
Also, If there was a list somewhere of the virtualkeys that Pr uses, I could manually update the .kys file which might help
eg I have Effects Controls on shift-5 which is the default and I'm pretty sure that's this one
<item.782 Version="1">
<virtualkey>2147483701</virtualkey>
<modifier.ctrl>false</modifier.ctrl>
<modifier.alt>false</modifier.alt>
<modifier.shift>true</modifier.shift>
<commandname>uif.window.Effect Controls</commandname>
</item.782>
If I try to put Window>Lumetri Color on F6 I get this, except it reverts after I launch Pr again, but my point is I don't know what the virtualkey number should be
<item.778 Version="1">
<virtualkey>12</virtualkey>
<modifier.ctrl>false</modifier.ctrl>
<modifier.alt>false</modifier.alt>
<modifier.shift>false</modifier.shift>
<commandname>uif.window.Color</commandname>
</item.778>

Thanks for reporting this @Nick Lear. We're aware of the issue in Premiere Pro 23.4 and are working on a fix. This issue affects a small subset of keyboard shortcuts, including the default shortcuts for moving between those main panels.

Ah ok, always good to know if it's known.
I had noticed it was particularly the Window shortcuts. And that only in
the last few versions did I notice this happening (I don't think it
appeared in 23.4, I think like 23.2 or something)
My workaround for now is to do all the updates I need and then copy the
.kys at Explorer level & keep the copy and then once I've opened Pr I'll
overwrite the original - it's quicker than doing multiple updates in the
keyboard shortcut settings.
Better workaround - do changes and then right click on file and tick read only
