Premiere Pro 15.4.1 is now available for download from the Creative Cloud desktop application. This release is recommended for all users.

The August release of Premiere Pro (version 15.4.1) includes a fix for an issue where using edit tools on clips can produce flickering in the Program Monitor.

To update the app open the Creative Cloud desktop application and click the Updates tab on the top-left. Find Premiere Pro in the list and click Update.

This is an "announcement" post. It is not meant for troubleshooting. If you are experiencing any trouble with the release, please create a new post apart from this one. Thank you.

Hi Enrique,

Sorry. What kind of footage. Try File > Close All Projects. Then Preferences > Media Cache. Delete all Media Cache (second choice). Please also try deleting preferences and then report back.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, hi.
Indeed, after the last update, I am experiencing inconveniences with the program hanging and crashing. I have to experience this inconvenience three times more than it was before the update. I agree with some of the user.

How do I revert back to the previous version of Premiere? The new update keeps crashing every few minutes and I can't get any work done. Please don't suggest ways to make the new version work, just tell me how to install the previous versions. Thanks

On creative cloud go to your apps list. Then next to the "open" button on
whichever app you would like to install a different version on there should
be three dots. Click on the three dots and a list of options open up, one
of them being "install other version" option. Click on that and choose a
version to install. Changing your version will not change your settings or
delete any of your changes or videos.

Now there is no way to roll back to an earlier version of premier. I am also experiencing these difficulties. The developers, for some reason, removed this option. You need to contact the UserVoice support service.

actually i am having memory issues since any 2021 version (from 15.0 on until now.. still not fixed) with some of my machines (one is the by far biggest one..) - while working the RAM gets filled like infinately. it feels like it does never clean out stuff it doesnt need anymore. after 4-5 minutes of working i get the message "low on ram, please safe the project" and if i continue like 1 minute more, the whole computer freezes. once it even "disconnected" my 3080 Ti. it wasnt able to be found anymore in device manager. normally i have to reboot after every few minutes, because the problems in premiere dont stay in premiere. the whole PC lacks of RAM/GPU even after i close premiere.

for example:

i open a project, dont even do any playback.. i just open it and start adding things to the media encoder render list.. after like 4 or 5 clips the message pops up and everything starts to freeze.

PLEASE finally fix it. i can find HUNDREDS of users having these problems, like everyone of them has only 1 working solution: downgrading to 14.5 .. every other thing doesnt work.

No, Kashif. I don't think that would meet system requirements.

What is the functional difference between the beta version of Premiere and this current version that causes it not to work with black magic hardware on M1 mac minis? Is there any hardware output device that does work with m1 based mac minis? Not getting any response from BMD, which I will be avoiding because of poor support.

So when are you going to fix the fact that Premiere Pro is completely broken for M1 Mac users?  We can't even export a video without line skipping, glitchy block madness (you know what I'm talking about because everyone who has an m1 mac has been posting about it) its been months and no fix?  The 15.4.1 update did nothing btw?

Are your system specs up to date? You have an M1 chip but it looks like you
bought that Mac two days ago I would insist on looking into upgrading your
computer. Here's a workaround that will take you an extra hour to implement
into your workflow. If that doesn't work it's probably because you're
incompetent have you tried plugging in your computer? If you have a
legitimate problem that many users are complaining about I'll just start a
new forum thread in a place it doesn't belong and place your reply in there
so no one sees how bad we're doing to fix our bugs. -Adobe

This is all you'll hear from them. Or no response at all. Good luck.

Hi Jordan,

Thanks for writing in. For sure, I agree that exclusive moose should probably make a new post for a problem rather than tack on to an announcement post. However, I think the post should live right here in Premiere Pro land where it belongs. We can probably help.

If that standalone post does not get responded to by the community, the moose might want to try contacting my colleagues here in support.

Kevin

Kevin, I have a big or not so big request: please return the rollback to the previous version of the program, in case of deterioration in the stability of Premier. There was such an opportunity before. Now, with each new update, there is a risk of encountering new problems in stability and performance. People work with large and very expensive projects, and so, there will be an opportunity to roll back and complete the project to the end. Can you help bring it to the developers? I consider you one of the best specialists (as well as Ann) with whom you can cooperate. Because if I write one, the developers may not notice my urge for real things. With respect to the Adobe development team.

When exporting long clips to H264 by way of media encoder or Premiere, the audio drifts substantially.  The workarounds that have been suggested (chiefly "render and replace") defeat the purposes of the export in my case, since I'm exporting time coded raw interviews. Rendering the whole of my raw footage would devour an uunacceptable amount of hard drive space (and time).

Hi Alpha J,

Thanks for writing in about your workflow problem. Is it possible to record the interview using a hardware device rather than OBS or some software capture scheme? I would look into creating better formatted source footage rather than rely on software for poorly formatted source files. Let me know.

Thanks,
Kevin

Why is open Cl gone from renderer options? I can't use my eGPU now because of that, do you have any workarounds?

Hi Jorge,

Sorry about that. The OpenCL option will not supported for future development in macOS to the best of my knowledge. I'm so sorry your hardware won't be as functional going into the future. It's rather one of those things that are out of our control, and I apologize for that. You can let the devs know how you feel here: Premiere Pro User Voice

The problem is bigger than normal obsolescence dear Kevin, the problem is that with my eGPU connected I get choopy playback , frame rate is not smooth at all and the only way I've found to fix this  is having to disconnect my eGPU when I certainly shouldn't be doing that everytime I use premiere pro because I need to use  other software where that additional power is essential. I refuse to do that every single time. It is certainly Adobe's responsability to look into this and fix it, because although the program no longer supports open cl, playback shouldn't be choppy only because I have an eGPU connected, it's like you're saying to me I cannot use the new Premiere Pro unless I have a new computer with an M1 chip which would certainly be ridiculous.
