Premiere pro 2025 Captions not showing

With Premiere Pro 2025 suddendly my captions are not showing anymore in the program monitor. Nor does titles work.

I have tried everything:

- Making sure it is activated,

- Trying to reset preferences
- Trying to delete media cache

- Restsarting the app

- Importing an old project where titles work

But nothing works.

When I reinstall Premiere Pro 2024 the captions and titles work perfect. I open the same old project in 2024 and the captions are there both on timeline and program monitor, but on 2025 they are only on timeline and will not be exported if I hit export and even though I mark the 'burn captions into video' option.

I'm running Mac Os Ventura 13.6.1 (22G313) with 64 GB 2666 MHz DDR4 and AMD Radeon RX 570 8 GB - 3,8 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W

Shouldn't such a setup be able to handle this?

So I finally managed to get this rresolved. Adobe support had to do a remote takeover of my mac and find the problem. In the end it was a third party plugin that conflicted with the 2025 Premiere Pro realease. Removing all my plugins solved the problem and now the caption function works normally again.

I ran into the same issue with Premiere Pro 2025—my captions stopped showing up in the program monitor, and titles weren’t working either, just like what andreasb54331015 described. To meet a deadline, I had to download the Beta version, and thankfully, things are working again. Still, what a mess. I can’t believe they released it in this state. Why not hold off and release something stable instead?

I even tried upgrading to Tahoe.... and that was a really bad idea.

I am having the exact same issue. If I could never use Adobe again, I would. Premiere Pro 2025 is the absolute WORST software. I can't see any of the titlles or captions, or whatever, even though they show up on previous Premiere Pro versions. So now I have to go and remove plugins on my laptop? One by one? Beause I have so much time to do that. Adobe...FIX YOUR SOFTWARE SO IT WORKS PROPERLY!! The cost keeps increasing and the product keeps deteriorating. As of now, the monthly cost is not worth the trouble with this version.

The plugins issue was not a common fix for this. Are you Mac or PC?

You can hold shift down when you open PR, and pick the option to skip plugins for that startup. It does not hold all plugins and extensions, but worth a try.

They are still sorting the underlying issue, and I believe it could still be multiple causes. I'm Win10 and can't test the problem in that thread.

What specific PR release? There were some bugs that caused this, which I think were mostly solved.

I'll look for a link to another thread, but this tended to be Mac only, and, amazingly to me still, this can be graphics driver related.

Adobe Support helped me and ran a remote assist on my mac, effectively finding out that it was a third party plugin conflicting with the 2025 release. So for others watching this: Try removing old plugins and then add them one by one, untill you find out which one is causing this issue.
