Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/8236158?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

I did everything, reset prefences on launch, clear cache, change render;etc. It's 22.2 thats broken, I redownloaded 22.1.2 and no issues. Googled the issue also lead me to many more threads and posts about 22.2 crashing also, so this is the program not anyones pc

can you share your system specs?

also try to notify us if you are using any third party plugins

or something that needs update to the newer Premiere Pro,

like graphics card update etc...

yeah newer versions will always have bugs, so you can keep both versions,

one for finishing up your deadlines, and the other for trying and testing when you have time.

Sendo totalmente respeitoso eu digo que a Adobe está ficando para trás, infelizmente, muitos outros softwares são suaves para edição e o premiere esta muito ruim há anos.

I plan on moving to davici in the future and all the affinity products, adobe pushing AI is gross

Having the same issue, tried all of the troubleshooting tactics like clearing cache etc. In the end, as suggested by tech support from Adobe, I  downgraded to Ver 22.1.2, and things have been stable now. Adobe needs to fix its QC before rolling out updates.

If that doesn't work, try Final Cut Pro. 😂

Thank you for all the suggestions

better not update when still working on projects, that applies to final cut pro as well

Hi,

One question. What kind of edits are you trying to perform on the fly? Add Edits? Ripple Trim to Playhead? What? You see, I'm not quite understanding what you mean by making a cut while the Timeline is playing video.

Can you be more specific about your workflow so I can reproduce? Sorry, I do not edit in this fashion. I'm more of a traditionalist from an era when this technique was probably not technologically possible.

Thanks for the info!

Using the blade tool to add an edit while the timeline is playing. The issues hasn't occured after deleteing media cache. But projects do not load from the start and the application crashes and hangs as others have mentioned. I have found that opening a new blank project then opening the desire project works. This new update is causing many issues.

Got it. Thanks for adding these details to your case. While I'm glad that emptying the media cache has helped the situation, there does seem to be a degree of corruption going on either at the sequence level or the project level for you and others. I'll let the product team know. Feel free to file a bug on User Voice, as well.

Thanks,
Kevin

Same. Till I upgraded to v22 I would get occasional crashes due to something I cant figure out, screen would black out and when it came back I had to restart.

Now with 22.2 I can not even open the project. As soon as it loads it gets stuck on media pending and then crashesi, disappears withouth any trace.

So, I just tried this with an MP4 file, playing and cutting while playing was flawless.

Do you have more details about your timeline?

Also, was this a new project or one from a Prev version?  You may need to delete the media cache to avoid this issue.

Am too having this issues after I installed the newest version. Even cleared out cache, delete project/sequence and restarted my PC and nothing seems to be fixed?
