Premiere Pro 24.2.1 - I have to add a Lumetri Color Effect to every clip I want to grade + more

Hi!
I recently got an automatic update to Adobe Premiere Pro, but it seems to have bugs all over the place! I can't use my Type Tool & Rectangle Tool anymore, I specifically have to ADD a Lumetri Color Effect to every clip if I want to color correct/grade something, and now I also have problems with opacity masking in Effect Controls because I can't move the dots anymore (it only lets me curve them instead of moving them)! Can anyone please help me with this issue? I've already tried uninstalling Premiere Pro & Adobe Creative Cloud and re-installing it, but that doesn't seem to work... Also: I'm working on a Macbook M1 Pro, so it shouldn't have problems running Adobe Premiere Pro properly, right?

Thanks in advance,
RobbertLW 🙂

Thank you, @R Neil Haugen. It sounds like we have the same solution here. It is a new behavior that might be throwing people off their game. I hope we can help you, @Robbert35669625csxo.

Thanks,
Kevin

I'll only comment about color corrections ... if you have the Lumetri panel open, as in the Color Workspace, simply touching any control in Lumetri adds that instance of Lumetri to any selected clip on a timeline.

So as long as you have an active clip in the timeline, and are working from the Lumetri panel, you shouldn't need to manually add the Lumetri effect from the clip.

So ... could you describe the problem you're having with this in  more detail?

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Hi @Robbert35669625csxo,

Thanks for reporting on multiple bugs. However, the team can only address one bug at a time in these bug reports. Please file one issue per bug report if you wouldn't mind.

I can't use my Type Tool & Rectangle Tool anymore

That sounds like the Active Manipulation issue the team is working on now. Sorry about that. A workaround is available, and you can also upvote the bug here. It could also be related to the Tools bug; comment and upvote here.

I specifically have to ADD a Lumetri Color Effect to every clip if I want to color correct/grade something.

I have not heard of the Lumetri issue you mentioned. I would need to investigate. I will change the title of your bug report to reflect this bug. The first thing to check will be to see if Sequence > Selection Follows Playhead is enabled. That may not be enabled, as it used to be by default, and your experience may be different if that is the case. The team might require more information and prefers it in the following format if you don't mind: How do I write a bug report?

I also have problems with opacity masking in Effect Controls, because I can't move the dots anymore (it only let's me curve them instead of moving them)! Can anyone please help me with this issue?

It is a known bug and is being fixed right now. Upvote here.

Thanks for the report!

Best Wishes,
Kevin
