Premiere Pro CC 2018 Captions Bug

Hi,

Whenever we re-open our premiere pro projects the open captions will be screwed up. Premiere Pro will create additional captions which are 1 frame long and squeeze them in between the other two captions. It will also copy the text from both neighbour captions and insert it into that short one.

Horrible captioning! Just finished using different open captions on a longer film by duplicating the original Caption in the project. Although in the caption manager the correct texts are displayed the ones on screen are from the last one edited!

Hours of work lost! Don't they at least test those features, like... once????

That is what I said, back in 2016 when this feature bug was introduced. I test the function when there is an update, and so far the disappointment has not failed me.

Best workflow for subtitling / open captioning anything with PPRO is to use a third party application on the finalized video. Which is too bad as the feature would have been so nice to have in the program, provided it worked at all.
