Premiere Pro CC crashes when trying to export

New Here ,
Jan 30, 2019 Jan 30, 2019

I'm trying to export a ~2:30 video in the H.264 format. Every time I hit export it makes it to 6% and then crashes. When I try to export it in Media Encoder, it fails and says:

"

Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.

------------------------------------------------------------

- Encoding Time: 00:00:06

01/30/2019 01:51:50 PM : Encoding Failed

------------------------------------------------------------

A low-level exception occurred in: H.264 (Exporter:9)

Export Error

Error compiling movie.

"

I also found an error log that said something about Lumetri Color. I saw that other posts talked about Lumetri Color causing export issues with still images, but I don't know what Lumetri Color is and I don't have any still images(besides a few text graphics).

Hi JudiO,

Sorry about this. You probably are having issues with your GPU unable to process your Lumetri color effects. Try switching File > Project Settings > General to "Software Only." It may take extra time, but you should be able to export this way. Does that work for you?

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for the response Kevin,

I changed the renderer from "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration" to "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only" and I'm still getting the same error.

Try exporting to a different file.

Choose QuickTime as the Format, and Cineform YUV 10 bit as the Preset.

If that works, you can bring it back into PP to create the MP4.

I attempted exporting with those settings and it crashed again.

Try a clean reinstallation of your GPU drivers, then switch the Project Settings back to Mercury Playback Engine. Directions: FAQ: Why is my GPU not available for Mercury Playback Engine GPU acceleration?

Thanks,
Kevin

A few questions:

Are you able to render your Sequence completely?

How large is this project?

What type of media are you working with?

How many effects are added?  Any 3rd party effects?

I haven't applied any 3rd party effects. I am able to render the sequence completely. Since the video is only 2:30 long, the project size is only 102.8 KB. I am working with 1920x1080p 60 FPS .mp4 files.

Have you worked with our support department on this? It definitely seems that some troubleshooting would help get you back on track. More info is needed in order to resolve this.

Another thing that may help:

When the Adobe crash report dialog pops up, there is a hot link that contains the related crash info on Windows.

If you can copy and paste that and add this to the thread that could help provide useful info.

When I try to export it directly from Premiere it just crashes without a dialogue box. When I try to export with Media Encoder I get this in the error log:

"

A low-level exception occurred in: H.264 (Exporter:9)

Export Error

Error compiling movie.

Export Error

A low-level exception occurred.

Writing with exporter: H.264

Writing to file: A:\Videos\1stHalf.mp4

Around timecode: 00;00;00;00

Component: H.264 of type Exporter

Selector: 9

Error code: 3

"

I tried to export my project in fourths to maybe locate where in my project the issue is, but all the exports failed. I'm able to render 100% of the project, I just cannot export it. I've tried different export formats and presets with no luck. Every time I try to get into a live chat with adobe support they aren't open. I'll try to call them later.

I switched back and forth a few times from GPU acceleration to software only and it still crashes. I've also been monitoring my CPU, RAM, and GPU usage during the export and they never even reach past 40% utilization. I've tried updating my graphics drivers and restarting several times.

I started a whole new project and tried to export a short test video and it was successful.
