Premiere Pro CC gives System Compatibility Report & States "intel display driver may cause performance and stability issue."

New Here ,
Jul 16, 2019 Jul 16, 2019

Every time I open Premiere Pro CC I get a System Compatibility Report window that states:

- Video: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 v.20.19.15.5063

"The current version of your intel display driver may cause performance and stability issues. It is strongly recommended that update to driver version 100.6286 or later. Drivers are provided by intel or your computer's manufacturer."

I use a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 with an Intel Core i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz & 8.00 GB RAM - Windows 10 64-bit

To try and fix the problem I've:

  • Made sure all my drivers for the Nvidia Graphics card is up to date.
  • Clean reinstall of the Nvidia Geforce Drivers.
  • Made sure all Intel drivers are up to date.
  • I've uninstalled/reinstalled Premiere + uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe CC and cleared all Adobe data during the process.

Here are some possibly helpful screenshots.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

WHAT I DID:

Since I use dedicated graphic cards I could just disable the interal graphic Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 via bios!

At least I have no crashes since that-

Hi John,

I contacted the Intel support and working remotely they made sure that I have the latest drivers installed. However, the same message keeps coming out (and Premiere shuts down while trying to open the Project of my documentary)

FYI: Intel CAN update the drivers for that graphics chipset. Use the "Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer" to do it.

Unfortunately, Adobe will not accept the updated Dec 2019 drivers. This shows it's an adobe routine error and not an Intel driver issue, as they do have a current chipset driver installer.

Intel being Intel, the company just does not want to support any of its hardware that's more than three years old any more. You see, the last few driver versions of the HD 4600 driver are merely security patches to a driver that dated all the way back to 2016. And that's because Intel had placed driver support for all 4th- and 5th-Generation CPUs into legacy status back in 2018. That means no more compatibility fixes, ever, for these older CPUs although critical security patches will continue to be made at least until later this year.

I have exactly the same issue. The suggestion from adobe to install an old intel driver is not acceptable. The suggested driver is from 2018. Other programs will be not run properly with an old driver.

Why do you provide updates that are nonsense and break running systems?

This is not an an intel problem and it's not the first update that causes immense issuse for adobe users...

At some point you should notice that less but better updates are way better than releasing updates every few weeks!

We pay for this Software, find a solution and no work arounds.

Please!

Thank you so much! Now I can load premiere pro 2020 as i did before without having errors.

Went into the BIOS and disabled my integrated I7-3770K CPU graphics. I am running solely on my NVIDIA GTX680 which I wish that Adobe Premiere still supported as the card still works great.

I know I need to upgrade but for Premiere to put out an update, and warn us that our projects can crash made me feel uneasy.

Now i can continue to hopefully create some content during this covid-19 quarantine
