Mute and Solo seems to enable and disable by themselves when I save a project, ie if I save a timeline with three audio tracks and track one muted, then quit Premiere and re-open the project, all three audio tracks will be muted.
It happened on a small project converted from CS6, I'll see if it happen with a project started on CC too.
Thanks, this is a known issue for CS6 or prior projects brought forward to CC with muted tracks. While we are working on a fix you can reload your CS6 project and unmute the tracks, or copy the content to a newly created track which should not exhibit this issue. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Bump for persistent problem clearly not solved as of PPro CC 2015.
Please - would someone from Adobe acknowledge this?

Experiencing a recurring "mute" problem here as well, which I never experienced prior to CC 2015 nor in CS6. Seeing this in multiple projects, whether new from scratch in CC 2015 or converted from a previous version. Regardless of how it is set, the mute button will either re-engage or dis-engage itself automatically every time I scrub the playhead or press play. I have quit the project, quit the app, restarted my machine, and even deleted audio tracks. A2 seems to be the track most smitten with this bug in my experience thus far…
I was finally able to find a workaround by clicking the mute button during playback, which caused it to remain fixed when I play/scrub the playhead.
Hope this helps someone else; in the mean time, Adobe please fix this BUG!

...about the "select all / gain control" issue, wasn't a Pr issue, it was a noob issue! Figured that one out quick enough.

I'm having a nutty issue. I called support and they can't figure it out. I have a mute button that is turning on and off like it's keyframed or something. It's not keyframed that I can tell. It's really strange. It seems to be recording when I hit the mute button. Even if I close out of Premiere CC 2014 and open it again the mutes happen again.
Any ideas???

Getting the same thing here, for mute and solo tracks... Keep turning on and off when I play or stop.

Happend to me today. I cleaned my cache in Premiere and then restarted Premiere. That did the trick for some reason.

Same thing here: a huge pain, I'll mute a track ( most often in my case a lower music track on tr 6 or 7) & the button turns green per usual; but once I hit play it un-mutes itself, green off, etc... restarting premiere is the only solution, which solves it for awhile.

This happened to me today also - I muted a track and when the playhead began playing the track kept unmuting again.
Followed Nick Papps' advice: I cleaned my cache in Premiere and then restarted.
That has solved it at the moment.

Hello,
This problem has definitely not been fixed with the update since it is still happening for me.
I cant go around doing workarounds, creative cloud isn't cheap and I am using it in a professional setting, I am currently working for television and have deadlines to meet.
Is there any way I can fix this without having to make a new project?
Thank you in advance

I'm dealing with the same automatic mute/un-mute issue -- the playhead is paused, I mute a track, the green indicator appears, I hit play, then the green mute color vanishes and the track isn't muted at all. However, f8creative‌ offered a work-around solution for the time being (two threads above: mute/un-mute during playback) -- not ideal workflow but it fixes the issue until Adobe updates, thanks!

This is a different issue than the O.P. However, I understand we have fixed the issue you are speaking of in the upcoming update of Premiere Pro CC 2015. That update is coming very shortly.

Same problem here with v. 9.0.0.
For me, the only way to get around this is to temporarily move the audio clip outside of the out marker / work area. Very annoying.

I tried that and it didn't help!
