Premiere Pro Closed Captions not centering. Please Help. (Premiere Pro 2020)

So I've been having this issue with both 608 & 708 closed captions, where they cannot be centered on the screen, even using the 'Position caption Block'  or 'Align Centre' buttons.

- This is a recent issue I've encountered which came out of nowhere when I opened a project to do some editing.

- I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple different versions of Premiere but the problem is persisting.

After doing some experimenting I noticed that the captions position changes in relation to the workspace window size (See images below), which I'm not sure is right as isn't workspace window just a visual reference - meaning that if anything the text should stretch instead of physically moving?.

The Problem isn't isolated to this project and seems to be tied to a setting in Premiere Pro maybe, or a software glitch? I'm not too sure whats causing this but any help would be great, again re-installing Premiere and restarting my computer has not worked, and even creating new captions or exporting/re-importing has not worked! Thanks in advance.

I cannot replicate your problem. I created 608 and 708 captions, and they are centering as you wish in a 1920x1080 sequence.

Can you describe more how you created the caption stream?

What is your sequence setting? pixel size, par, etc. 608 and 708 are created as 640x480 with a par that is for wide screen or not. I do not claim to fully understand this!

The "align" buttons are a "within" block setting. Add a second line to the caption. Then you'll see what those settings do.

The block grid setting moves the caption so the left end is at the max, the right, or middle. If you add enough characters, changing the grid to left middle right won't move the caption at all, because it is already at its max setting.

Your examples of changing the program monitor size are odd, because the caption is centered there; the change is slightly  up and down.

Hi,

Sequence Settings

Capture1.JPG

'The "align" buttons are a "within" block setting. Add a second line to the caption. Then you'll see what those settings do.'

- I added additional lines, but I can't seem to get functionality still unfortunately

The block grid setting moves the caption so the left end is at the max, the right, or middle. If you add enough characters, changing the grid to left middle right won't move the caption at all, because it is already at its max setting.

- I think my specific issue is thst its the 'whole caption' (ie. black gride and text combined) which is misaligning

It's strange because this was not an issue before when I opened the project, and everything functioned properly, software issue perhaps?
