Premiere Pro crashes once you click export!!!

Community Beginner ,
Mar 03, 2025 Mar 03, 2025
  • Issue - Every time I try to export a sequence (doesn't matter what content or type of files) it crashes.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version number: 25.1.0 (Build 73)
  • Operating system - macOS - Sequoia 15.3.1 (24D70)
  • System Info:
    • Apple M2 Max

    • RAM - 32GB

    • SSD

  • Video format: MXF - AVC100CBG_1920_1080_H422IP@L41 & AVC_1920_1080_HP@L41
  • Workflow details: Multicam sequence, with two different file formats. Not graded and no effects.
  • Steps to reproduce:
    1. File>Export>Media
    2.
    Change Name
    3. Usually tick Max Depth & Render Quality
    4. Choose CBR and set it to 15
    5.
    Hit export
I have also tried not making these changes and had the same result.
  • Expected result: An exported file.
  • Actual result - The encoding window pops up and immediately closes.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi @iwant2begod  Thank you for taking your time to file a bug report. The details provided should be very helpful. Has there been a crash at all that gives you a submit bug report option? Have you been able to export out any other format of video or video have you attempted to change export settings to see if you get different results? Another useful thing we could try is to get a couple sample files from you through any file share platform you would like and we could run some test exports with

Thank  you

Hi, thanks for coming back so quickly! So it happens regardless of the export settings - I also left out that of you send to Media Encoder it too will crash straight away. It does give me the option to report to Adobe after it crashes and I send report.

Hi @iwant2begod Thank you for the link to the files. I sent you a request to get access to them. I know you said that it happens no matter what the settings are on export, but can you share the export settings and sequence settings you have used on exporting? It will just be a good place for us to start.

Thank you

Ian

Just attached both screenshots of sequence and export settings. I also got your request and shared one Screenshot 2025-03-07 at 16.14.53.png

I have the same problem. 😖

However, Premiere (and AE and Media Encoder) only crashes on my Mac with Sequoia 15.3.1. On other Macs in the office with the same Premiere version but Mac OS 15.1 or lower, everything still works fine. I wonder if maybe an automatic OS update over the weekend caused the problem?
