Premiere Pro freezes when tasked with converting the auto transcribed text to captions.

Premiere does a decent job of transcribing some of my short videos. I edit the text in the text window to fix some words, and then click the three dots menu to ask it to "create captions."

The dialogue window comes up with options, and then after I hit "create" it freezes. forever.

If it does unfreeze, no captions are created. When I ask it to "create captions" again the dialogue window doesn't appear, but the program acts as though it has (all menu items are greyed out, and nothing can be done). Once I restart Premiere, I can usually get it to create the captions following the same process. but I have to repeat the whole series on the next video I wish to transcribe in the process.
