Premiere Pro locks my screen and restarts my laptop

For the past couple of months, Premiere has been giving me a black screen, crashing, or restarting my laptop. I've reinstalled it four times now, and the error still seems to persist. I have an ASUS TUF Gaming A15. I don't know how to resolve the issue or if it's a recent update.

My computer has:
AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS (3.10 GHz)
32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)

I edit weddings, mostly using Canon 4K files, not yet in CLog. I hope you can help me resolve this.

Try basic troubleshooting 101 for Premiere ...

1) on launch, hold down Shift key, in the pop-up dialog select delete all cache files, allow to start.

If that doesn't fix it,

2) on launch hold down Shift, delete cache, trash preferences, and don't load any plugins/extensions, all those options.

See if that works.

Hi,

Thanks for the question. A similar issue is being experienced by others. Updating Windows runtime seems to fix it. Can you try that? See also this post: https://adobe.ly/492dl4T.

Thanks,

Kevin
