Premiere Pro not displaying essential graphics clips in video but shows on timeline

Hey everyone good morning,

Premiere pro is not displaying my essential graphics clips that im dropping onto my timeline. The sequence section is turned on. When i drag over a lower thirds graphic and drop it in the timeline it shows the clip simply titled as "graphic" instead of the usual name/title for the clip, yet nothing appears in the video preivew. I've tried downloading several new graphics quickly via the essential graphics window on PP and none of those new ones worked either. When I dropped one of them onto the timeline it quickly disappeared then popped up a "motion graphics template is corrupt" message. Ironically an "fx" subscribe button graphic seems to work just fine though when dropped? What gives?
