Premiere Pro - Playback Error

Hello! I'm very much hoping someone can help with my issue. Basically, no matter whether it's in the timeline or the source window, everytime I playback any media, the clip will briefly speed up and the audio stutters in and out with the sped up clip before returning to normal speed and being completely fine. The length or this bug varies - sometimes it's only briefly and sometimes it lasts a good 5-10 seconds. It's a very minor bug but it's really getting on my nerves now when I'm trying to fine tune my edits, specifically because I can't understand the audio and I have to start playing every clip at least 10 seconds before the moment I want in or out points just to ensure I have the right spot. It's starting to really impact my workflow and it's very annoying to both me and my producer who's sat next to me witnessing this while we try and edit some casting tapes.

Now to the troubleshooting methods I have tried. I have cleared caches, changed playback resolution, tried both versions of premiere pro currently on creative cloud with various projects, I have installed nvidia creative drivers, I have rendered the timeline while working on it an indefinite amount of times, I have rebooted my laptop and premiere pro several times, I have increased the amount of dedicated RAM allocated to premiere pro and I have searched far and wide for anyone encountering the same issues as me.

I have a HP-Omen with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 and an Intel i7-14700HX. Please save me.

Hi @jamieclarke , thanks for your reply! Also, I love you!

That last fix appears to have worked. I changed my audio hardware settings default input to "No Input" and it seems to have worked a charm!

I can also confirm that I'm suing the latest studio graphics driver and I don't currently have the text panel open but have been intermittently using it to create transcripts, but that's irrelevant info now! I'm free!

I hope you have a great day you are an absolute lifesaver and, again, I love you!

Many thanks!

Hi @Tripperoo -   Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.   Please see, How do I write a bug report?

What graphics driver do you have on your RTX 4070?  Can you make sure it is the latest and the Studio version.

Do you have the text panel open?

Can you check your audio hardware settings and make sure Default Input is set to "No Input"

Sorry for the frustration.
