I can't seem to find the answer to this simple question on any forums or youtube.
I created Proxies using Premiere and then graded my footage in Resolve. Then I brought the footage back to Premiere to edit, all while trying to preserve the original media and using proxies to edit until final delivery. It doesn't appear that my footage is high quality once I export to Pro Res 422. I shot the footage in either Pro Res 422 or 2K DCI on my Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k depending on if I shot in 120fps or not. I'm pretty sure I imported the media when I imported into Resolve.
What is the round trip workflow from Premiere to Resolve using proxies?
Just in case I didn't import media with the xml, is there a way to maintain all the grading I did while applying all the metadata to new clips that were imported properly? It may also be worth mentioning that we are in the process of buying a new computer now that we have the Ursa and currently I don't have a 4k monitor.
To send to Resolve, I exported as an xml. To send back to Premiere, I exported as a Premiere Pro xml.

This is a great question. I am not 100 percent sure if someone else has already answered a similar question. I can explain the process our company uses, however I would love to hear what other users are doing.
Does anyone have any tips on optimizing their workflow using proxies and working with both Premiere Pro and Resolve. It seems to be an easy solution if all the work is being done on the same computer. If you are working with other editors in different locations where some may be using both Premiere/Resolve and others may only have Premiere we would love to hear about your workflow for a similar situation.
I can highly reccomend www.frame.io to help keep your video projects organized and to make sure all edits are assigned both internally and from clients. We love working with Frame.io , if you have not had the chance to use it yet please give it a try.
