This has been a major issue for a very long time and it ultimately is one of the reasons we didn't cut a feature film in Premiere. Search/Find is basically useless.
If you contact me, I would be happy for you to remote into my system and see examples of search and find dialogues failing on projects of different scales.
The search bar in the project window doesn't return results for clips that are there. The Find dialogue (Cmd + F) doesn't either.
We have tired filling all metadata fields with information and it won't find the metadata either.

Hi,
Please see my suggestions here: Re: Premiere search box doesn't show clips that are actually there
Thanks,

I'm having what seems to be a similar problem. I've done a few searches here but nothing.
(Box is not greyed out.)
If I type in the search box.... Premiere returns nothing even though there are multiple cases of the search word.
This project was started in 13.0.3 and I have not upgraded on purpose.
I have tons of meta data from logging extensively in a bunch of different columns and can't search any of it???

I may have found a clue to my problem.
So I trashed the Preferences and when I reopened the project I was in a different folder. A folder that had been logged by another person on another computer. When they logged the footage they had the "WRITE CLIP MARKERS TO XMP" checked and all the markers stayed on his drive.
My thought is that maybe he had additional boxes checked or unchecked with retards to XMPs and that might be why his folder is "searchable" and the rest are not????
If that doesn't make sense let me know.. but I still have not found a solution.
