Hi there,
I am having an issue where when exporting an XML of my timeline into DiVinci Resolve, Resolves comes back with an issue about timecode mismatch from the clips in my Premiere timeline.
I have spoken with the technicians at Blackmagic and DiVinci and they have given me a work-around, but I want to make sure this issue doesn't happen again, or if I can fix the premiere XML export so that it is correct and then works when imported into DiVinci.
The clips are merged media comprised of video and audio synced from separate files. Only a section of the files don't work, and these files were all created at the same time.
The ones that work were created later. However, there is one clip from the older set that does work, and it appears to have been modified at a later date, but we are unsure as to how this happened, but it works on the XML.
Any ideas or any more information needed, I'm all ears!

Am I correct in assuming that for that one group of merged files, PrPro came up with a timecode on them different than expected?
I wonder if there was a setting ticked in that merging window that caused this ... wrong choice for mashing time, either timecode "ignore hours" option or something in Audio/use timecode from clips options ... ?

It could have been... The clips were merged over a year ago and I honestly can't remember the settings. How would I check this?

I'm so bad at looking at XML files it's embarrassing! There are folks on here who can open them in a text editor (I think that's it), scan through visually, and quickly go ... "oh, here, see?"
And I ask them what to do, and they've told me. The last time I had this was ... over a year ago.
Someone who knows how to read those could probably help with this. Probably manually change them if it's only a few files. Or you might need to re-merge from the original files to get them working.

Okay thanks,
I think the merge is the issue, and it looks like I will have to remerge. It's over 1/3 of our 1h40 movie so its quite a few files 😕

Ouch. But been there, done that. Yuck.

So I tried to relink the media, and just use the footage but still have the same error...
I have no idea what is wrong with it!

Just an update on this issue, We have done some tests and it appears that the timecode is changing when going through convergent design odyssey 7q.
This was the external recorder we used, and the files were saved as 24fps, when they were shot at 25fps, so had to be converted to fit audio and real time.

the files were saved as 24fps, when they were shot at 25fps,
What does that mean exactly?

I managed to fix it.
The issue was solved by re-importing all the files that did not work in DiVinci while having the 'Write XMP ID to Files on import' checked. It updated all the files with Premiere's settings and now works perfectly!

Thanks for posting back on what happened, and how you fixed it!

Hi,
I am having the same issue (but we don't have merged clips at all)! Can you explain weather this checkbox is in divinci or premiere?

That's a preference in the PrPro Preferences Media tab.
