Question

Premiere will not Select Image Sequence for animation

I despise this program and use it as a last resort. Spark it up to Adobes large size and continued ineptitude.

Current problem, I have 1857 images names CLIP 01_000002.jpg etc...

I am not able to get Premiere to select the image sequence to create an animation. It will select the first image, but will not import the entire set.

I never had these issues with the 2022 releases and prior. Since 2023 this program, like adobe in general has taken a dump on its users.

Any ideas?

Try this method to import your image sequence:

  1. Go to Window > Media Browser.
  2. Click the context menu (the three lines) and enable Import as Sequence.
  3. Then, go to File > Import and select the first image in the sequence, then click Import.

The naming of the files can be critical. Place them in a folder and rename them so the first file has the name 0001.jpg, the second 0002.jpg, etc, etc. Try that and make sure that Image Sequence is checked in the import dialog.

This is the image name im using CLIP01_000002.jpg

Still will not work. Anyone? I hate this program when you are on a deadline and it has no way to work and be fixed.

I did a new test and if i name the first clip CLIP01_000002.jpg, the second clip CLIP02_000002.jpg, the third clip CLIP03_000002.jpg, etc, etc Premiere Pro will fail to import the files an a image sequence.

So, you need it to be named such as ClipName-0001.jpg, ClipName-0002.jpg, ClipName-0003.jpg, etc, etc. Naming them as 0001-ClipName.jpg, 0002-ClipName.jpg, etc, etc wont work.
