problems loading old projects

Hello i am trying to laod an old project, may be 3 years old. It was made with another pc and an earlier version of premiere, now i have 2025

The biggest issue is that this version of premiere will not load avi files. I talk about several avi files i used in premiere when i  create that project

Why?Premiere don't load anymore avi ?

Also i receive alert that some filters are not available. For example " Pastel Sketch"

I don't remember what setr of plugin it was.Is there a way to discover it?

Try importing the project instead of opening.

What error message do you get for the avi's not loading.

Maybe missing a codec?

As of the filters missing< Premiere removed the obsolete effects folder.

Obsolete Effects, Transitions and Presets removed

it happen seven if i create a new project and try to import one of those avi files

for the filter..may be it was a third party package? i don't see any plugin with "sketch" in those list

You will have to install the Canopus HQ codec.

It seems you can still download it from Grass Valley.

As for Sketch that would be some sort of 3rd party plugin. No idea which one.

Pastel Sketch might be from https://akvis.com/en/video-software.php.

kok i was able to find and reinstall those fx. They are there, same name..but when i open the project premiere stillsay that could not find them--

how to do?

p.s.

probably what is different is th eparenth folder where all the fx are..so might be premiere is looking for that folder name and it is not the same

As long as the plug-in file is present in the common Plug-ins folder, it should load as expected.

The Pastel Sketch that's showing as missing is probably an older plug-in file that Premiere Pro thinks is different from the current plug-in file.

The version of Pastel Sketch that is offline should still show in the Effect Controls for each Clip that it is applied to.  This will take some patience, but you can apply the current version of it and match the settings of the offline version and then delete the offline version.

yes the problem is to go and seacrh for all the clips where the plugin has been used. And as there are 5 plugins missing it is a really long job to do!
