Hi there,
Is anyone having an issue with Project Manager in the latest version of Premiere?
When I move the completed project, via the project manager to my external drive location, I keep getting an error when trying to open a file in the new location. Saying the directory name is invalid.
I have trying resetting preferences and re-installing Premiere but keep getting the same error message.
I have also tried moving it to another location and still get the same problem.
If someone could help, I would be most grateful.
Many thanks

Hi wayne greensill,
Have you tried importing your project file in a new Premiere Pro project?
Thanks,

Hi Kulpreet,
Thanks for your reply, I will give that a go and get back to you. I'm finding Premiere along with Media Encoder very frustrating and losing patience with.
Many thanks

Is this issue specific to this project or all of your projects archived in Project Manager?
Can you run a test?

Hi there,
I have had the same issue in other projects, since the upgrade.

If you move the project to an internal drive, do you get the problem?
Is the drive letter the same as when you saved with the project manager?

Hi Stan,
Yes, I get the same problem on an internal drive and drive letter is the same.

Just add to the issue I'm experiencing, when I right click on the copied folder made by Project Manager and then properties, it is showing that the folder has 0 bytes, but when I open the folder all of the files created are in there. When I then click on a file I get the directory name is invalid.

Problems that have affected some files in the past are the entire directory and name is too long, or there are special characters there. Check to make sure there are nit and that you're using relatively short names just to test this possibility.

Thanks Stan, but I've not changed anything with names etc. I just don't understand why Premiere works fine one week and goes all wrong the next. It is so frustrating and putting me way behind on projects that I need to get done.

My quick test (from one internal drive to another worked). Sending you a PM.

Hi, did this solution ever work? I think I have the same issue and I need this ASAP for an assignment.
