projects on internal or external drive?

With media on an external drive, is it better to have the project in the iMac hard drive or on the external drive?

It's always better to set your media cache to your internal drive for better speed. If you have the the space on your internal to edit from, you'll have better speed. But if you don't have space or work remotely a lot and you need an external drive to take with you, that's fine, but I'd recommend an external portable SSD (solid state drive), so much faster than a standard external hard-drive. I use the Samsung T5 Portable 2TB SSD
