Try deleting media cache. Press Shift on launching the application. In the Reset Options dialog box, check the box next to "Delete Media Cache." Then, click OK. Does that work for you? Let me know.
Thanks,

Are you starting Premiere with a regular icon, or double-clicking a project file? If the later, try opening PP direct, ie: not with a project. Did you try creating a new project? If so, IMPORT the problem project in, see if you can do that.
Also, you can delete your cache and set your preferences back to default. Hold down the shift key when you start PP.
