"Go to Selected Clip Start/End" shortcut not skipping fully to the beginning/end of clips.

I'm keyframing photos en masse, so I've been using the "Shift + Up" and "Shift + Down" shortcuts to jump to the start and end of pictures and set keyframes quickly. Sometimes this works great, but other times the playhead only jumps a few frames ahead instead of fully to the start/end of a clip. See video below.

Every movement of the playhead in this clip was caused by me pressing "Shift + Up" and "Shift + Down." Are there factors that can modify this shortcut's behavior I should know about so I can avoid them and get consistent results?

Thanks!

Hi Brandon,

If you're using Premiere's default keyboard shortcuts, Shift + Up/Down Arrow will jump to the next cut on any track. So if there are edits on the track above or below, it will jump to those.

For keyframing the start and end of a clip, I recommend using Shift + Home and Shift + End, which will take you to the first and last frame of the selected clip.

Cheers,
Paul

Thank you much! My work keyboard doesn't have End/Home so I guess I'm rebinding haha.

If your keyboard doesn't have Home and End keys, you can use the following shortcuts instead:

Fn + Shift + Left Arrow for Home
Fn + Shift + Right Arrow for End
