"Open Sequence in Timeline" button not working from Source Window

New to Premiere Pro, Avid User.

Hey Guys, I'm still new to premeire pro and I was following a youtube video on how to get my source window media sequence up. The video kept telling me to click on the wrench however when I do click on the wrench icon to select "Open Sequence in Timeline" button this is greyed out? Not sure how to get this button active? I'm editing audio only so no clips are loaded and currently there is audio loaded in the Source Window. Am I missing something here?

You need to open the sequence from the project window into the source monitor first. (right click on sequence > open in Source monitor)

If it is still grayed out the sequence is already open in the timeline.

You can use the pancake editing as shown in your screenshot to copy clips over to the main timeline.

You can also Gang Source and Program to insert/overwrite bits from the source monitor into the timeline.

Your source panel shows a wave not a sequence.

Maybe this is more for Avid but what I'm trying to do is have the Source window open with my media that I've imported and then make selects and put it on a new timeline to build a new sequence. I thought I could do this by clicking "Open Sequence in Timeline" and that would help me start doing it. On the youtube video I checked out it seemed to do the thing that I'm wanting to do. However I just can't click that button because it's greyed out.

You need to open the sequence from the project window into the source monitor first. (right click on sequence > open in Source monitor)

    You need to have Source targets select in the sequence control header block.

     

    See the blue boxes to the left?

     

    You need to click in the gray area to the left of them, left of the padlock symbol, to select active tracks for importing from the Source monitor. Click a track's far left block, and when it turns blue, you can import to the sequence from the Source monitor.

    I couldn't find the padlock on the left?
