"The importer reported a generic error" when selecting "Replace with After Effects Composition"

This is my first time getting into after effects territory, but whenever i select a clip from premiere pro and choose the option "replace with after effects composition", it automatically gives me the error "the importer reported a generic error" after opening after effects (after effects doesnt crash, the error appears in premiere). I tried with other clips in the same project, and even made a seperate project with one of the clips from my main project to see if its an issue with my main project, and it still gives me the same error. All the clips are mp4 files and i checked twice, my after effects works fine when i use it but thats the only issue i have.
My premiere pro version is 24.2.1 (build 2)
My After effects version is 24.2.1 (build 2)
The only plugin i have is motion bro 4.5 in premiere, there are no effects or alterations in the clip im trying to import from premiere to after effects. If you need a video of the issue, lmk.
