Re: Premiere pro freezes when i try to import files in certain projects

This still isn't fixed for me in Sept 2025. I have to Reset To Saved Layout before importing any media, and I have do so repeatedly for each batch of files I am importing. Worse, Premiere does not actually save the correct layout of my preferred workspace, so I have to recreate it every time I want to import media.

I have to do the same before using the Replace Media function in the right click menu.

I have to do the same before selecting the save location while exporting.

It seems to happen any time Premiere has to access my computer's file system

@Fergus H you were a rock star at solving the interpreted footage proxy issue from a few years back. I wonder if you would mind taking a look at this import issue? All the best.
