I learned the hard way today that premiere rasterises vectors on import, so if it is too small to begin with the output will be pixelated (not going into that mind boggling situation now, but seriously?).
Problem is I now have a file full of graphics which are pixelated. Ive added a bunch of effects and animations, (scaling, rotating etc) but when I try to resize the original illustrator file the graphics get physically scaled up in premiere. Is there a way to increase the resolution on all these files without the size changing in premiere? God I hope so.( PS I know After effects is a better tool for this job, but I inherited an existing premiere project so didn't have much choice)

Not the best answer, I'm sure, but I would rescale the vectors so thay are oversize and then add a transform effect to each clip to make them the correct size again. This will let you keep the inbuilt scaling effect unchanged. If you scale the vectors the same you can copy and paste the transform effect to each.
