This was not any update you did of a version, but an update of the Welcome page that, I think, is independent of version updates.
@Alexander_DVA, posting the content here rather than linking to the Beta forum:
There was a problem in an update of the welcome screen which causes the list of recent projects to remain empty.
If this does not resolve on its own after updating to the latest version you can try clearing the following folders:
On Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Adobe/CCX Welcome/
On Win: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CCX Welcome\
