Relink others automatically not working

I recently upgraded to Monteray and Premiere 22.4 - now I can't relink multiple files to anything.  I do have "relink others automatically" ticked, but it is forcing me to manually link each file (even if they are in the same folder location).  If I turn on the "Use media brower to locate files" - my external drives vanish so that is not working either.  Very frustrating as what should only take about 20 seconds is now taking hours to manually relink hundreds of files one by one.

I solved this problem unchecking the option "File Name" in Match File Properties.

Nope. Didn't work for me. Not a fix.

There used to be extra settings for re-linking automatically (Match timecode, match filename, match extension, etc.) have you tried exploring those?

I've been have a similar issue recently as well. The re-link seems to have become very finicky. I was working off transcodes that were mp4 and when I went back to the camera original mov files I had the same issue.

I think I saw this on a different forum and you had it fixed but I just wanted to check to see if it's the same post? Did you get it working?

Hi Phillip - unfortunately, I'm still having all sorts of trouble relinking older projects in both premiere and after effects now.  (and not really old projects, just any projects from before I upgraded to Monterey a few weeks ago).  For example whenever I try to relink things in after effects I'm getting this error (see attachment). This is probably a different issue than why I can't link multiple files in premiere anymore.  But both issues are making is super frustrating when trying to reopen any older projects.

I've googled a ton of different articles regarding this issue.  The only workaround I've found so far is to go in and manually rename (remove the .mov extension) on every file inside the project and also inside the folder where the original footage was.  Obviously this is painstakingly slow and not a real solution, but it's all I've got right now.  It feels like an issue with Quicktime and Adobe not communicating anymore.  Wondering if I should get rid of Quicktime and replace with VLC player???  Or is there something better to replace Quicktime with that will talk to Adobe on a Mac?

Doesn't seem to be a QT issue if it's happening with Braw and h264s.
