Removing Auto Reframe effect makes selecting text impossible

New Here ,

I've noticed a bug that I am able to recreate every time.
I started to suddenly not be able to select text using the type tool (both graphic text and subtitles) as the text box instantly got deselected. The only way to resolve the issue was restart, or just close the sequence and open it again.

After doing some tests, I found out that it happens if I remove auto reframe effect from a clip. I have not been able to recreate the bug from any other effect, only by removing auto reframe. Adding the effect does not cause it, only removing.

Any fix for this? I am creating social clips, and often want to change the framing manually instead of the framing the auto reframe gave me as I'm editing the text, but then I can't go back and edit text again.
Speech to text is not beneficial to use in my language yet.

I think you're seeing this bug:

Annika describes the easiest workaround. You can also edit text in the Text panel.
