Render And Replace dialog missing help

New Here ,
Jul 20, 2017 Jul 20, 2017

Hello,

First time poster here.

I'm having trouble with "Render and Replace...".

Whenever I select that option on a clip (or many clips) Premiere immediately renders and replaces. I would like to select options as described in the Premiere manual ("include handles" for example).

Has anyone else faced this issue?

How was this fixed?

I've tried loading up Premiere while holding 'alt' to reset preferences.

Thanks for your help.

Paul

Hi Neil, thanks for your help. I'm afraid that handles do apply - as seen in the Premiere Pro manual or Adobe Support here:

Render and replace media in Premiere Pro

"

Include Handles

Specifies the number of additional frames to retain before the In point and after the Out point of each rendered clip.

"

Apparently my issue is that I am using that feature on an audio only clip and Premiere Pro does not support choosing options during a Render and Replace for audio only clips.

"Render & replace" is typically just giving a section of the timeline rendered into previews (whatever format you've chosen for previews) that are used for playback rather than the original media. So ... "handles" don't really apply.

"Handles" would be for when you cut clip sections out of longer clips, such as in sub-clipping ... so that you've got material for the transitions to transition over.
