Render Issue

I added a couple of jpg into the timeline. I then notice the red bar indicating a render would help to work on the project however the render shows it may take several days. I need to get to work on this project.

The green FX badge on your 3+ hour video clip indicates that an effect from the Effects panel has been applied to it. This is most likely the cause of the red render line above the timeline.

 

However, if playback is still smooth and you are not dropping frames, there is no need to render.
