Saving adjustment layers for template Premiere file

Does anyone know how to save adjustment layers that have effects added to them to the project window?

I'm trying to create a template Premiere file for ease of use, but the adjustment layers in my project window seem to always be blank when I re-insert them to the timeline, despite the fact that they have effects added to them when in the timeline. This is quite frustrating because I just want to drag and drop adjustment layers whenever.

I'm aware that you can save presets but this still involves adding the presets to the layers each time. I'm also aware that when I add the effects to the 'source' section of the adjustment layer this changes the file in the project window which I thought was my solution, but there's no way of viewing and tweaking the effects this way.

If you want that as a template to use accross many different premiere pro projects:

you can create a project template with just the adjustment layer with its effects.

have 2 projects open in premiere pro, the template one and the editing one.

you can use a pancake workflow (have 2 timelines open), then drag n drop the

adjustment layer from the template project timeline to your editing timeline.

and about saving presets, you can select all presets used on your adjustment layer

and save them as 1 preset that you can later drag and drop, so you don't have to save each

preset as a standalone preset, then import and drag/drop them one by one.

A few days ago, I came across this problem. So naturally I tried doing everything I knew to try to import my adjustment layer to my project window. Eventually I did it, I got my adjustment layers *WITH* the effects to my project window. It was a transition so I needed a way to drag and drop it to my timeline fast. A few days later has gone by and I needed to do what I did again. But I forgot how to import the adjustment layers to the project window with the effects.

That looks like an overlay (image sequence maybe), not an adjustment layer with effects.

To acheive what you're after, you need to apply the effects as source effects on the adjustment layer. In the effect controls panel, with the adjustment layer selected (or open in source monitor) select source and put your effects there.

Create a new sequence with the ajustment layer and then nest it.

Use the nested sequence from the Project panel in the main timeline and then double click on the nest in the main timeline to show the nest as clips.
