Scale to frame not working

Scale to frame size not working.

I currently have my media preference set to "Scale to Frame Size" and the clips that I pull into my timeline "fit the frame size". As a work-around I've set my "F" key to "Fill Frame" and press it directly after pulling my clip into my timeline. Doing this for every clip is annoying and I just want my clips to automatically fill the frame once put into my timeline. I've tried resetting my adobe preferences/computer and newly importing clips but nothing works clips. Someone help please.

Hey Stan, this is completely normal. But as the OP said in his first post, he have to press "F" if he wants the clip to fill the frame exactly. He wanted the clip to automatically Fill the program monitor, but we don't have such option in the preferences.

@Ali Jaber,

> have to press "F" if he wants the clip to fill the frame

Right. But I think he incorrectly set his preferences to scale. So it came onto the sequence scaled, and he had to unscale by the fill.

He also said that, originally, he was able to move the clip around, which is true if there is simply no scaling, and a 4K is added to a vertical HD sequence.

Stan

All of us, as editors, want our clip intially to be fit, so we can see the whole scene (vertically in this case), then we may want to scale or move the clip as we like. If I have the same situation as the OP, I will use the fill command directly despite of the option set in the preferences, because saddly we don't have the Fill option there.

So, I suggest that Adobe team should add the "Fit to Frame" to the list in the preferences.
