Second Monitor Output issue with Premiere Pro (13.1)

Participant ,
Apr 03, 2019 Apr 03, 2019

I have just updated to Premiere's latest update, 13.1 and now experiencing a problem with my second monitor output, basically it does not work.

I'm using the latest drivers for my graphics card, Nvidia 1080Ti. Tried switching on & off the Mercury Transmit and nothing, reinstalled and nothing.

Everytime I click to enable the 2nd monitor, Premiere keeps taking the tick out when I go back into the Playback prefrences.

So I reverted back to the previous build and low and behold it works fine.

Why is it every update Adobe release there is always a problem with Premiere!

If someone could let me know if there is a fix for the problem I'm getting with the latest build, I would appreciate.

Hi there,

I'm using aspect ratio on both monitors.

As I said earlier, I had no issue until I updated Premiere to 13.1. Works fine when go back to the build before.

when you say you are using aspect ratio on monitors, do you mean your monitors are both 16:9 ? That would be fascinating info too...

By this time next year maybe someone will actually get some real info from you ??

Hey Wayne,

Sorry you're having issues here. I can assure you that we're looking into it.

Do you remember if you've ever changed any Nvidia settings? Have you changed the layout of Monitor 1 vs 2 in the Nvidia display settings for example?

I can reproduce the bug (somewhat) but I must use 3 monitors.  Two work fine for me.  Have you tried enabling the other monitor option in Premiere Preferences?  (Have you tried both?)

Hi Wes,

I have made no changes to settings within the Nvidia settings.

All I have done is updated Premiere, I’ve made no changes to my prefreneces in playback preview either.

As I stated earlier, when I put a tick to output the second monitor, it keeps getting unticked.

I apologise if I’m sounding a little vague with my replies.

So, how could I solve the probleme with 3 monitors? As this happens to my setup too. I see that prmeier mixes up the numbers: my number 3 (as noted in the nvidia-system) is the Niber 2 in preniere pro (14.0.3).  The problem: I use it as  a preview monitor, and once in a while premiere seems to stop sending the preview (so I see the windows desktop) . any clues?

Tecspecs: nvidia Titan x, LG 5 K monitor as main,  a sony 4 k and the apple cinema 2,5 k, which I want to use as preview monitor.

Can you confirm how many connections and monitors that you are using? Two total?  More?

Totaly agree...I spent also about 1 hour with an useless Adobe technician.

There are now 2 new releases (13.1.1 and 13.1.2) who's didn't resolve.

I advice you to vote to some 13.1 bugs here :

https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro?query=13.1%20issues

13.1 is the worst update than ever !

I am also having issues with Transmit in both Premiere and AfterEffects. And so working away and awaiting a fix.

That said, the last couple releases this spring have been probably the cleanest releases they have had. And the second rather quickly moved drop was simply to fix most of the bugs of 13. And handled much faster than in oast practices.

For anyone with familiarity with this forum, previous major releases caused massive posts here. As in a post from an hour ago is now three to five pages back. 2015.0, 2015.3, 2017 ... "blew up" this forum.

It ain't perfect but in all, across the user base, it's been pretty solid. And that is from someone affected. But rational.

And yes ... everyone go to that link and go vote your bugs! Adobe lives by metrics.

Neil

Well Rodney you don’t have to reply, you can simply go and try and help someone else with your sarcastic comments.

OK. I will. I don't usually get sarcastic. I had to look up on internet if your card comes in a laptop. Probably NOT yet. If so, it's the chip only, which would mean the (probably) INTEL chip would override your Nvidia chip for normal display. In which case you have to work with the O.S. of windows (if that's what you HAVE , which you didn't say )… because you can CHOOSE in the O.S. how to handle more than one monitor.

THEN there's the Nvidia controls for primary and secondary monitor settings..

Then there's the resolution issues ( full HD for both monitors or what ?? what are your settings ).

Then there's the version number of your NVIDIA driver ….sometimes they need to be updated to work properly with NEW updated programs.

There's a LOT OF STUFF going on, so sorry for being tired of hearing the same old story without getting the courtesy of saying WHAT YOU HAVE to begin with...

Bye Bye

Hi,

Same issues here, after updating to 13.1 (build 193)

I have the main monitor Dell 34" UltraSharp U3417W (3440x1440) connected in Display Port, and the second a 22" Phillips (1920x1080) connected in DVI (on a Nvidia GTX 1080 TI)

Updating Nvidia doesn't solve, inverting screen 1 to 2 doesn't solve.

On think I notice is : if I select the 22" as main screen and put the software on it, I can't output video to the 34"...

but there is non-sences

I cannot have anymore output on the 22"

Other thing, I have also a USB additionnable screen (Asus Zenscreen for laptop), if I connect it (as a third screen) I can select it and have a output to it.

Please Adobe solve ASAP this issues ! We have several production in progress, and it's very annoying to have no more output monitor !

Thanks
