Smoothing Out Camera Motion

Community Beginner ,

Hello,

I am new to Adobe Premier, and still learning the ropes.

I have a pan that starts out a little fast and then slows down. I would love to find a way to make the camera motion uniform. I have already reversed the clip using speed/duration, so I can't apply warp stabilizer at this time.

Is there any other way to make the pan uniform in post? Would warp stabilizer work for this, if the speed reversal wasn't an issue?

Assuming warp stabilizer would work for this, is there a way to reverse a clip without using speed/duration, thus leaving warp stabilization as an option?

Thanks!

Camera moves aren't generally something you fix in post.  Best to get it right when you shoot.

You might try Warp Stabilizer on the clip and see if you get any improvement. I've had occasional success with this applying it to dolly moves that were not uniform. It didn't remove the speed changes entirely, but it did help.

No guarantees - your milage may vary.

Here is one way to try it: First, stabilize the clip, even though it is moving the wrong direction - take the clip you want to smooth and place it on a new (empty timeline). Apply the Warp Stabilizer and see the results. If the motion is improved, export that stabilized clip from that timeline, and then import back into the project the stabilized clip you just exported.

Drop the stabilized clip into your edit and then apply the speed/duration controls.
