Trying to set in/out points on clips in the source monitor. Most often (but not always) when, from a stopped playhead, I press "o" to mark an out point, the playhead will then start playing.
It's inconsistent. For example, in the attached video you can see it NOT happen on the first out point I set, but then happen FOUR times in a row. Then, when I right click and select "clear in and out" that also somehow triggers the playhead to start playing.
Setup:
PPro 24.5.0 (build 57)
Windows 10 Enterprise v.22H2
Intel i9-9900K @3.6GHz
64GB RAM
Quadro P4000 (driver 538.15)
Premiere installed on Samsung SSD 970
Projects writing to Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus
Some footage reading from HDD RAID
Happens with multiple footage types. Confirmed with H.264 .mp4 & Blackmagic RAW
I just discovered that once the issue starts (after that first in and out points are set), hitting "o" OR "i" starts the playhead playing forward.
FOLLOW-UP: reset preferences and now can't replicate. Huzzah.
Hi Matt,
Can the team get more information please? See, How do I write a bug report?

Matt,
Thanks for the good description and video.
24.5.0 Win 10. I can't get it to happen. It is true that it will add an outpoint and continue playing if O is pressed while playing. But using K to stop and then O results in an outpoint and does not resume playback for me.
If you set a new inpoint, does it work correctly that one time?
I'd do the usual; reset workspace and then preferences.
Stan
