My Space Bar exhibits less responsive stopping since the update a couple of days ago.
Anyone noticed that?
Starts fine.. but rolls on maybe 12-15 frames after Space Bar or "K" press.
PITA and less than desireable behaviour!
BTW: CS5.5 does not exhibit this . (and was not updated)
Maybe someone from Adobe can advise the likelihood that what was supposedly an UPDATE without adding anything significant can cause this issue please. Obviously the size of the update file contained a lot more than what was announced.

The cuda supported files were affected (back to default) and reports about the Adobe Appplication Manager are filtering in. You will note a new desktop icon has been added for it. I opened it and closed it immediately when it asked for agreement to Terms.

I don't have the issue. Although I haven't edited on any systems with any BMD or AJA type IO cards in awhile.

Just tested and now confirming..... ( also what Roger Averdahl commented on early in thread.)
Black Magic Playback does causes this issue in my system. (since Premiere CS6 latest update)
I definitely put that down to Adobe Transmit.

I think you are right. I hear new AJA drivers are soon to be released for CS 6.03. I will let you know if it resolved my issues.
Actually when I was running CS6.01 PrP with thea appropriate drivers all worked well. But I hear there was some reengineering done for 6.03 that necessitated new drivers.

I guess thats what Peter Garaway was telling us. in post #32.
Very cool getting responses from Adobe Staff me thinks.

i know this is an old thread but the issues described here i am able to replicate in CC on my MacPro. I have Mercury Transmit selected and when i hit the spacebar to stop play it does not stop immediately...instead it stops 15 frames or so later. maybe a second. If i don't Enable Mercury Transmit, no problem. I have a
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB. There are no downloads avail for the Mac. It is very frustrating since i like to use my external monitor all the time.

I have the lag on both BMD and AJA systems. I believe the AJA Premiere driver isn't approved for 6.0.2 as well.

No, I beleive the only drivers released were for 6.01.

Hey Erik (and anyone else)
Is your "lag" ...describing space bar responsiveness and as observeable in the GUI monitors?
Because that is what I am talking about.
Just clarifying.

I see the lag in the PrPro GUI.
Also, I notice this when I updated from 6.01 to 6.02. I have the latest (10.3.1 / 10.3.0) AJA LHi drivers installed. I'm checking frequently for an AJA update.

AJA released updated drivers last night (10.3.2) to be used with PrPro 6.03. I'm in the process of doing the update from 6.02 to 6.03, and will then update my Kona drivers and test.

From what I've seen and from what other users are reporting this should resolve many of the issues previously reported.
Stand by for Blackmagic's driver update.
Best,

I am getting great performance on my PC running CS 6.03 with the new AJA drivers. No issues at all. I have not testing tape capture (and probably wont
).

Thats encouraging news. No stop (start) lag at all?
Bring on the BM driver. ( Thanx Peter )

@Tom
Can you detect any measurable delay with the start and stop relative to a non AJA sequence? I found that with the Blackmagic card threre was roughly twice the delay when using the card. The delay was still there with the BM card turned off in the preferences, but certainly acceptable. Lots of folks are saying no delay....but I wonder if they are just not really measuing it and going by perception or feel.

Ray, with the development of Adobe Transmit in CS6.0 , there is no need to create anything but regular PrP sequences. There are no AJA sequences anymore. Adobe developed this abilit to allow developers to get easier "hooks" into the playback engine. Another benefit is that using regular Adobe sequences means you get CUDA goodness as well. I only use AJA products so I have no first hand expereince with BM, but as of today I heard they havent released new drivers for CS 6.03.

I have zero (imperceptible / un measureable) STOP delay with BM playback turned off.
12 - 15 frame delay when BM playback is on.

Shooternz, well if you are running CS 6.03 that doesn't surprise me since BM hasn't released drivers for that yet.
I had lots of issues when I ran CS 6.03 with the AJA 6.01 drivers as well. When I uninstalled them, all ran correctly.
Its only with the new AJA drivers for 6.03 that all is back to functioning as it should.

Yep..aware of that since Rogers early post and heads up..
My entire point at the start of this thread was ....we did a windows only update.
There was a list of fixes that accompanied the fixes and none of them seemingly had anything to do with editing or fixing application issues.
They were an Adobe "convenience" fix (security etc) and nothing to do with anything for the user...despite the update file being kind of massive.
Well who'd have thought it would have "broken a driver" requiring a third party ( 2x third parties actually) to fix them so we could have business as usual!
How come Adobe didnt know or advise that as well?
"fix it til its broke" or "feature creep"...cant make up my mind. ![]()

Tap the space bar to play and stop has lag on both AJA and BMD systems.
Playback in external monitor seems a few frames late with both cards.
No issue with lag on my MacBook Pro with vesion 6.0.2.

Erik, FWIW Im on a PC running CS 6.03 with those brand new drivers from AJA and things are rock solid. The only thing I dont have expereince is the tape capture process.

Thanks Tom. It looks like on the Mac side the latest update is 6.0.2 so I'm current. I hope this also will help with the "Serious Error" issue us Mac folks are having. We shall see since I'm editing mostly today.

I see the issue, and it happens that I have an Aja Kona LHi i/o card that has been operating nicely in version 6. I had recently installed the 6.02 upgrade, and noticed the spacebar thing shorty after. Looking at it closer, the "lag" occurs with the spacebar, the J, k and "play" button.
