speed up videos don't move together

I think I must have changed a setting but I am not sure what it is. When I Select multiple clips on multiple levels and want to speed them all up they don't stay in sync with each other. Each clip keeps its "starting position and shorts from the right (when I speed it up). Pictures below. I want to ripple edit.

NORMALLY, I select all the clips, right clip select speed duration, select ripple edit and that gives the desired result. All the clips speed up to the set speed... in this case 500% and they stay in sync all moving to the left accordingly.

Instead their starting position is fixed and every clip gets shorter where it is creating gaps and multilayer clips are our of sync.

I know nesting is one way to do this. But this was not required before. It
can be done without nesting. Or at least it use to be. This is not
something I am trying for the first time. For years I have edited sped up
footage regularly this way so I can easily work with both clips on the same
timeline. This is also more convenient than multicam for my workflow.
I have temporarily had this problem before and it went away. Thus I think I
turned something on or off by mistake. Otherwise perhaps I update changed
this behavior.

Yes...They are both 29.97. They were shot on identical cameras. Two GH5 Panasonics.
