Storage Question

Community Beginner ,

Hi,

I have two internal hard drives, one solid state and one much larger disk based drive. I am running the most recent version of Windows.

I just installed Premiere Pro CC and I worry that as I start to work with more and more video files my relatively small but faster SSD will fill. I am curious if there is a way to ensure that all of the ingested video files can be stored on the internal drive while that application stays on the SSD.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Best,

Tom

Drive C space http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1007934?tstart=0 see reply 4 for the setting that you need to manually change to a different drive... and then delete any old temp files

You can put the imported assets anywhere you like. When you start a new project you can assign the drive where your assets are located. You will probably want to lave the cache on the SSD, although it will fill up if you don't keep it clean and having a drive other that your system drive to keep those is a good idea. However, you want to keep those on a fast drive, as it will effect performance.

I know there is a post about the best way to configure your drives for Premiere, but I'm not sure where it is located. If you can, adding a second SSD for the caches will be a big help.
