Subtitles disappearing

Recently upraged to, you guessed it, 22.2 - and alongside the usual litany of problems my titles simply won't show up any more aftert saving, closing and re-opening an edit. They are theyre on the timeline, I can click on them and read that's in them, they are rendered in green but they just won't show up in the video any more - absolutely baffling! I never expect a smooth ride with Premier but this is just taking the mick.

Can you please share your system info? Like OS and version, CPU, RAM, GPU vRAM? Thanks. Also a screen grab of your issue will be helpful.

I'm running a brand new Macbook Pro M1 chip, OS Monterey 12.1, 64 GB RAM, all Premier apps are up to date with latest versions. Screenshot below - the titles still show on the timeline but they won't show on the playback screen any more - I can add new titles which then show up, but once closed and re opened, the project reverts back to the same issue.
