Subtitles imported as .stf are not showing up in playback or in project?

Used Kapwing subtitle software, downloaded subtitles as an .srt then imported in premiere pro, it's showing up on the timeline like subtitles, but the subtitles simply aren't showing up. I've had this issue before with dropping subtitles with premiere pro subtitling, but 3rd party is easier and more efficient for what I want to do. How do I make these subtitles show up on the screen? Did I download with the wrong formatting? or imported incorrectly? Video is due to drop tomorrow, so I'm in a little bit of a tight spot...

Screenshot of the captions in the Caption Panel would help. We need to know what type of caption stream you have.

I had a similar issue, I had to play with the Size, X, and Y to get mine to show up, they were off the screen.

The screenshot indicates that you have a Closed Caption 608 stream. Is that what you want? Or did you intend to import them as Open Captions? If y ou are not sure, what is your final purpose for the captions? Burn in, export a side car file, or export a file with the captions embedded?

Open Captions do not require anythihg special to see them in the program monitor. closed Captions require that you click on the wrench icon (bottom right of the program monitor), select captions and "Enable" and also make sure in the captions settings there that the stream time is set correctly.
