Noticed system slowing and then hanging when sweeping though the "reduce noise" control in the new essential sound panel in 2017.1 version 11.

2015 5K iMac on macOS 10.12.4. Thoughts?

I've reproduced that moving the Reduce Noise slider will result in distortion and continued use with result in Premiere to stop responding. A bug has been logged for investigation by development. Thank you for the report.

I think there's an issue with audio noise reduction at the moment. Interesting what others have on this.

I am experiencing the same problem. 3 times in a row. Shut down machine in between; everytime it captures audio, it crashes.

Tried both via editing the sequence, and a clip, from Premiere.

Shit.
