System Freezing and Crashes in Adobe Premiere Pro While Processing Previews

I am experiencing a recurring issue with Adobe Premiere Pro where the system freezes completely, sometimes followed by a blue screen (DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER). The freeze occurs primarily when processing video previews or during playback in long sequences. I have to force restart the PC to regain control.

I have taken several troubleshooting steps to identify and solve the problem:

  1. Updated Drivers: Verified and updated NVIDIA Studio Driver, Intel ME, and other system drivers.
  2. Disabled VBS and Hyper-V: I disabled Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) and Hyper-V to rule out conflicts with Adobe Premiere Pro.
  3. Cleared Cache and Reset Preferences: I cleared the media cache and reset preferences in Adobe Premiere Pro to ensure there are no corrupt files.
  4. Tested System Stability: Ran stress tests on the CPU and GPU; temperatures and performance are within normal ranges.
  5. Tested Hardware Connections: Reduced USB peripherals to avoid power-related issues.
  6. Switched Rendering Options: Tried both GPU and software-only rendering options to rule out GPU conflicts.

Despite these actions, the problem persists, and the system freezes mostly when generating previews or during long video editing sessions.

I need assistance to understand if the issue is related to Adobe Premiere Pro itself, specific media files, or deeper system configuration problems.

Hi @danielg29051499 -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.
Please see, How do I write a bug report?

What are your system specs?

Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?

Are there any reproducible steps that you can do that makes your system freeze?

Do you get a crash dialog box?

Sorry for the frustration.
